HALLOWEEN 2010

Happy Halloween everyone! Special year for Aaron and Emily. Aaron's 1st Holiday/Halloween and Emily 1st time going out to house to house. Last year(2009) she was sick, year before (2008) she got home from the hospital, (2007) she had a Trach and (2006) she was just born and lived at the Hospital.
We started early -4pm- went to Grandparents house to Annies. Then to town to all the Aunts and Uncles. Getting in and out of the car 100 times is a lot. We finished it up with Subway supper in Courtland (Katie and Jesse's house). The troops were ready to go home since it was about 8:30pm.
The spooky crew

The Sparkly Tinkerbell

The Lady Bug (aka Asian Beetle)
The pumpkin (aka rotten pumpkin - cause he was crabby )

Tinkerbell lost all her pixie dust. Every year Brianna falls asleep.. but Emmy is ready for more

Aaron's new babysitter

Brianna wanted me to roll out her playdough but I was really busy with Aaron. She was whinning a lot. i turned around and said "unless you can change his diaper I can not help you at this moment." Brianna said with a straight face "okay". So she changed him all by herself. Go Nana!
Brianna took this picture. Not bad. Aaron has a tiger nose on.

Popcorn Ball making

A yearly tradition that Grandma Wendinger would do every year. Ever since she passed away almost 10 years ago my sisters, mom and I would continue the tradition on.
This year we made 242 popcorn balls. Every year it takes us 15 minutes to figure out what to do. Funny thing is we write down every year whom comes over, what the weather is like and what didn't work the year before.
Brianna, Emily and Aaron were wonderful kids today. I mentioned that Grandma Wendinger was babysitting. The Dragon slept from 8:15 to 12:15, Emily didn't have any eposides, and Brianna just out of our hair.
Best part we started the morning out with Grandma rolls. Growing up every Saturday Grandma would make 2 pans of rolls which then we would meet our family and Pauls family to eat them all up. I remember Paul calling the ride over here the Grandma bus. Dad would drive the bobcat over and we would sit in the bucket. (High class ride).
Reading through the book of previous years - Sheila and Mom

St. George Store

The Store in St. George was takin down October 27, 2010. To many this house was an eye-soar but to many others it was known with too many memories.
The store had been in operation since before the Dakota uprising. Harvey Palmer operated the business from 1951 to1964. In June of 1964, Elmer and Louise Penkert purchased the general store and tavern. (Craig's Grandpa and Grandma - Patty's Parents). After operating the store for over 13 years the store closed its doors forever August 22, 1978. Myself I don't remember the store but minutes before it was torn down Roger was walking through. He pointed out the place that he proposed to Patty. Now knowing the landmark of memories is now gone.
The Lafayette Excavating was hired to take the house down with the help of many other. Hauling the loads were Jim Gleisner, Roger Beranek, Lafayette Excarvating truck and Holy Land Haulers - Matt Wendinger.
They started on Wednesday and still getting the final layer of gravel on as of Friday.
Before demolition. Dad (Peter) doing one final walk through.

Tooth Fairy

The tooth fairy came to our house last night and it wasn't for Brianna.
Emily lost her 1st tooth. I am really stocked.
Yesterday Emily was having bloody secretions and we didn't know why.
We were thinking she had a sore in her mouth.
After supper I wanted to get to the bottom of this bloody stuff.
Sure enough all of a sudden there was a tooth on top of her tongue.
The cup that we use was the same cup I used growing up. It is a Happy Joes cup which is now wore off
Some people put their tooth under their pillow and our house put it in a cup.
(with water I may add. I don't know why)
Funny thing is mom had us put it in cabinet that dad had his change bowl and wallet.
The tooth fairy treated us well.
