St. George Store

The Store in St. George was takin down October 27, 2010. To many this house was an eye-soar but to many others it was known with too many memories.
The store had been in operation since before the Dakota uprising. Harvey Palmer operated the business from 1951 to1964. In June of 1964, Elmer and Louise Penkert purchased the general store and tavern. (Craig's Grandpa and Grandma - Patty's Parents). After operating the store for over 13 years the store closed its doors forever August 22, 1978. Myself I don't remember the store but minutes before it was torn down Roger was walking through. He pointed out the place that he proposed to Patty. Now knowing the landmark of memories is now gone.
The Lafayette Excavating was hired to take the house down with the help of many other. Hauling the loads were Jim Gleisner, Roger Beranek, Lafayette Excarvating truck and Holy Land Haulers - Matt Wendinger.
They started on Wednesday and still getting the final layer of gravel on as of Friday.
Before demolition. Dad (Peter) doing one final walk through.

Garage down - first stab into the house
