Emmy's 1st day of school

Emily started preschool at Jefferson. She had such an amazing time.
Emily did great. She was happy on the bus and at school.
There is alot of commotion with the 7 other students but she just took it all in.
The nurse goes with and basically helps Emily do whatever the other kids are doing.
The bus comes right to the front door and picks up Brianna and Emily at 7:20am
Emily is in school every morning but Wednesday from 8 to 10:30a
Emmy's locker
Painting is fun
loading the bus

Going Home

Yeah! We get to go home a day early.
Everyone is doing well. Both Aaron and Shari are doing great!!
This afternoon the whole family got to be together.
Emily came with her big sister and her daddy.
She was so excited to see Aaron.
I don't think she knows he is real.

HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY EMILY

Emily Ann turns 4 today!

With her big birthday party on Sunday which was wonderful with all her nurses and family.
As Emily turns 4 she will be able to start school.
She will ride the bus with the nurse everyday but wednesday. She will be in school til 10:30am.

As we look back on Emmy's 4 year journey.
As she was born 10 weeks preterm at 2# 4oz she is now 21 # 4 oz and 31 inches tall. which her weight is 9.4 times her birth weight.
Sad numbers I went through -
186 days of hospitalization (6.2months)
10 procedures (such as bronchoscopes/GI scopes)
 7 surgerys
355 days with a trach
7 to 8 different formulas (feedings)
Too many to count of doctors in her life.

For the good things in her life!! 1st it has been 322 days since her last hospitalization. in that last almost year she has advanced alot. She sits on her own, standing with support and many other advancements. 6 wonderful nurses, her family plus another one soon to come in 2 days. And lastly she starts school.

The saying I like from Dr. Suess.....................
Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

Oh! The Places You’ll Go!
You’ll be on your way up!
You’ll be seeing great sights!
You’ll join the high fliers who soar to high heights.
You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed. You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead. Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.
Except when you don’t.
Because, sometimes, you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so but, sadly, it’s true that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to you.
......
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)
Kid, you’ll move mountains!
So…be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ale Van Allen O’Shea, you’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!

Happy Birthday our Little Emmers!! She has touched so many peoples hearts! We Love our special Emmy!
